We are a home specialising in Dementia care. With 36 years’ experience and specialist training in Dementia Care and Challenging behaviour, we are able to meet the care needs of individuals who are in the early stages of dementia, to those in advanced stages. We also provide palliative care.
We are registered for 47 beds. This is made up of a mix of en suite rooms as well as standard rooms.
Yes. All our care staff are trained to a minimum of Social Care Level 2, most are beyond this at Level 3 to Level 5 in Social Care. All staff are also required to complete mandatory training courses in Fire, Manual Handling, Dementia Care, Challenging Behaviour, Person Centred Care and Dignity in Care. Staff are also supervised and undergo formal supervision every 3 months as well as annual appraisals to constantly improve their performance.
Despite all this rigorous training, our ethos is that we only employ those who have a genuine caring heart. This is a trait you cannot teach. If you have empathy and kindness in your heart, we can train you to be an excellent care worker.
To provide the best possible care and have the ability for a GP to be within close proximity for urgent appointments, we do require your registered GP to be within the Llanelli area. If they are not, you need not worry, we will handle the registration and transfer process to a local GP.
Yes. We cater for all special diets from diabetic nutrition, coeliac disease to vegetarian and pureed.
A care plan is produced based on your assessments and GP records and we cater accordingly.
Residents enjoy a wide range of activities, from arts and crafts to gentle exercise, music, and seasonal events. There are communal lounges for socialising, a reading lounge for quiet time, and gardens with allotments where residents can grow plants and vegetables.
Families are permitted to visit anytime, however we ask that you please be mindful of meal times and pad change rounds, where staff time is taken to prioritise resident’s needs.
Ashley Court is fully equipped with a modern nurse call system, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and passenger lifts. Our environment is regularly inspected by Care Inspectorate Wales to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
We are also inspected annually by Carmarthenshire Local Authority, Llanelli Fire Service, Food hygiene standards, Health and Safety officers as well as regulated and inspected by CIW.
In addition to care, we provide in-house services such as chiropody, dentistry, hairdressing, optical care, and visits from a vicar. Daily newspapers and other reading material can also be arranged.
We attempt to meet all requirements put to us, within reason, and have in the past arranged family birthday lunches, family afternoon tea, visits to rugby and football matches. This is your home and we will do what we can to make sure you are living a fulfilling life.
You can contact us directly. We welcome both Private fee payers as well as Local Authority funded clients. If you do require local authority funding, you will need to contact your local social services for adult care. They will complete a full assessment and award funding if their criteria are met. You can visit Ashley Court Care whilst this review is taking place and you can request that the social worker places you at Ashley Court Care, if this is your chosen setting.
But nothing compares to visiting in person. Contact us today to arrange a tour and experience the warm, homely atmosphere of Ashley Court for yourself
